It's both an honour and a privilege to have the opportunity to shoot with the Canadian Forces (CF) Snowbirds, 431 Air Demonstration Squadron. The Snowbirds perform at airshows all across North America representing the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the proud and grateful country of Canada. Capturing moments from the start to the conclusion of their season is an incredible way to truly appreciate what goes into making a successful season. Having the chance to share this privilege with other very talented photographers results in not only lasting friendships, but also lasting memories for all involved at both ends of the camera.

Each year the team begins training only a few weeks following their final show of the season. Through the winter, the teams pilots, technicians and support staff work to ready the pilots, jets and their performance. In the springtime, the team moves its training to 19 Wing Comox, British Columbia on beautiful Vancouver Island. This offers the team a chance to get used to life on the road to work on their performance above both ground and water from the same location.

I had the incredible opportunity and privilege to fly a high-show practice with the team in April, 2016 during their Spring Training in Comox. Photos, video and a write-up of the experience are here:

Make sure to follow the Snowbirds on Facebook for the latest information, updates and news for the upcoming show season.

Please enjoy these images from the last few seasons with the team at home in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and Comox, British Columbia along with a gallery of images from various airshow performances.
